Hen on a boat.

Well hello there chaps! How are you? What have you been up to?

I have just had the most wonderfully merry weekend. Although i am now a wee bit knackered. Well, a lot knackered actually. But it's been totally fab so i don't care, not even a little bit.

My brilliant friend Em is getting married in two weeks time and so this weekend was her hen do. And so we all pack ourselves off to deepest darkest Northamptonshire for a spot of canal boating! Yay!

Of course i was on cake duty. So i got my bake on.

First was rocky road. I don't really follow any particular recipe for this, it depends on what i have in the cupboard. This time (amongst other things) it had mars bars, revels, peanuts, marshmallows and tropical crunch cereal!

This is all held together with lots and lots of melted chocolate and a little bit of butter.

Next up was a coffee cake, which meant i got to use my beautiful KitchenAid. Any excuse.

And finally i made some peanut butter squares. Nigella, How To Be A Domestic Goddess. These are amazing. I might have eaten 3..... ok, ok 5 before i boxed them up ready to go.

And with that little lot and a few bottle of champagne i set off to see my pals. And a jolly old time was had by all!

I am not a practical person.

I like to think that i'm pretty handy. Turns out i'm not. Not even a little bit.
This is my beautiful new bed. Isn't it wonderful, i am totally in love with it. Very Bedknobs and Broomsticks which is why i love it so much. The photo above is what it should look like. However, so far, mine looks like lots of pieces of metal and some screws and a lot of packaging.

I have just spent the last three hours trying to build this beauty. So far i have managed to screw the feet to the headboard. That is all. Oh, and put the sticky foot protectors on.

This may take me a while......

Been on a little trip.

Very little in fact. Only to Petersfield. To visit the dentist (who is in fact a very nice dentist friend of mine who said she'd make sure all was well after i admitted, shamefaced, that it'd been years and years since i'd been. I am bad).

I went to school in Pefe and lived there for a while too so i find it weirdly comforting to go back there. The place doesn't really change and it's like coming home. It even smells the same.

Do you have places that you like to go? Places that make you feel at home? I bet you do It's nice to visit them every once in a while.

Llama lovin'

Good morning! Are you well? What have you been up to? Did you do much for the Jubilee? (so many questions....i've had a lot of coffee this morning!). I was working throughout the whole royal extravaganza so no street party for me, although we did have bunting and tiaras at work so it's not all bad!

Today i thought i'd show you a little Etsy collection, the theme is llamas. I love llamas. They have funny little faces and always make me think of Dr Dolittle's pushmi-pullyu. Fab.

DIY wrapping paper.

This is fab! My Poppet is a great blog written by a clever lady called Cintia. She has come up with the great idea of scanning pretty trim in order to make wrapping paper. It's really rather brilliant.

Think how great it would be to get a present in one of these wonderful wraps. I'm definitely gonna give it a go!

She also has a shop stocking lots of great bits and bobs. You can find it here.

Blabla.

Well hello there! I'm sorry i have been a little quiet of late. I have been so very busy and it means that some things have taken a back seat. This is naughty and i must try harder. I will, i promise.

I wanted to show you some wonderful knitted things from Blabla. I was made aware of this amazing site via Ohh La Lapin's blog. Blabla is a wonderful collection of knitted loveliness. There are toys, keyrings, pillows, finger puppets as well as stationary and lots of other wonderful things. All the knitted products are made by Peruvian artists out of materials grown in Peru. Fab.

The last picture is my favorite....what is it? If only i could knit like that, i'd be a happy lady!
