A day of London fun.

Good morning to you. And also you too. How are you this Monday morning? Well i hope.

I have a lovely lazy two days off. Starting now. Well, after i have done all the boring cleaning and paperwork type things that need doing first. Although i reckon if i get a wiggle on i can have all that boring stuff done by lunchtime. So really a day and a half of being lazy, which still sounds good to me.

I went on a little trip up to London on Friday with my mum to see my sister. And what a lovely day we had. We went for lunch at Fortnum and Masons (i was so full afterwards i had to waddle to the shops).

They have the most amazing chocolate there, and their easter eggs (and bears!) looked amazing.

(We might have purchased a few salted caramels. Not that i could eat any of them after the massive lunch i had just munched my way through. Boo).

We then we spent the rest of the day shopping. And i didn't spend a penny (thank you mum!). I love to have a mooch about when the sun is shining, which is exactly what we did. Fab.

We also spent a lot of time egg searching but i'll tell you all about that tomorrow....

I cheated!

I know that i am a chef and that i make my living from cooking for others. And therefore what i am about to say should make me a little ashamed...

After posting a recipe for lovely fresh tasty pancakes on here the other day i did the exact opposite and made mine from a bottle. Yup. I know that pancake batter is one of the easiest things to make and i still went for the easier option.

I was being very lazy. But they were still very tasty! I like the classic lemon and sugar. I also tried a cinnamon sugar one (also yum).

And sorry to my poor friend Laura who was probably expecting more from me when i offered to cook pancakes for her. Although we managed to eat an entire bottle's worth so they can't have been that bad.

Thank you Betty, you didn't let me down!

It's pancake day tomorrow!

Did you know this? I found out just in time! I seem to always miss it, but not this year. Yay!

Do you like your pancakes thick or thin? Big or small? With lemon and sugar or maybe maple syrup? (or both if you're anything like me!).

However you like them i hope you have lots. A nice full tummy and smile on your face is what pancake day is all about (in my opinion anyway).

If you are a fan of the American style one's here's a recipe that's pretty fab. It's from Leon: Baking and Puddings. Enjoy.

150g plain flour

75g sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder

3/4 teaspoon barcarb

200ml natural yogurt

200ml milk

3 eggs

75g melted butter

1. Comine the dry ingredients

2. Combine the yogurt and milk

3. Separate the eggs, adding the yolks to the yogurt/milk and stir to combine. Set aside the egg whites in a large clean bowl

4. In a staedy stream, add the yougurt mixture to the flour and whisk until smooth. Whisk in the mlted butter

5. Whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form and them fold into the batter

6. Cook in a hot pan for a couple of minutes either side. Then eat!

 Yummy scrummy.

I am about to get a new tattoo (which i am very excited about!), i will of course show you once it's done. I just have to wait till the image is finalised and then book the appointment, eek. Lets hope they're slightly better than this guy!

Etsy sales!

Well hello there happy campers! Sorry i've been so quiet of late. I've been feeling a little bit sorry for myself and mainly working and watching Gossip Girl (please don't judge me. I would judge me, if i wasn't stupidly addicted to it!).

But this is naughty. I am running low on stock and have been neglecting my wonderful blog, stock levels at Manna Tearooms and above all my Etsy shop.

However, yesterday a lovely lady decided that she likes some of the items already on Etsy and bought two packets of evelopes. Yay.

My Etsy store has been a little slow, and i have therefore been concentrating on selling my things direct. But this has given me a little kick up the bum and means i'm going to give it some TLC.
