Pimp My Rug.

I really want a beautiful new rug for my bedroom. I was looking at Persian rugs and thought it would be cool if you could get them in neon colours.

So i googled 'neon Persian rug' and it turns out someone else has had the same idea! I found these wonderful rugs by Jan Kath.

He gives the classic carpets from days gone by an innovative new look. The idea: a process is used to strip the dyes from old oriental rugs, which are then re-dyed in contemporary (neon) colors.

He states: The classic patterns now only slightly shimmer through – like a secret from “A Thousand and One Nights.” Further more, in contrast to the general trend, every rug in the Pimp my Rug collection is unique. Each carpet is an individual eye catcher with a strong character that will create a clear color point in every apartment and define the center of the room.

Kath “recycles” previously unused, handcrafted carpets from traditional factories in Iran, Turkey, and Azerbaijan. These Oriental treasures lay many years waiting in vain for new owners in the ware houses of Hamburg’s historic Speicherstadt. Kath has now awakened these sleeping beauties and sent them through a time tunnel, giving them a magnificent new presence.

I love them and would love to have one. I reckon they'll be out of my price range though. One for the wish list.

True.

Tea time.

Do you like tea? Are you a big tea drinker? I am. Not in the mornings, i need a strong coffee to wake me up first thing. But in the afternoon and evening there is nothing better than a good cup of tea.

I have to admit i am a lazy tea drinker and usually make it in my favorite mug (a giant Bangkok starbucks mug if you're interested). But i love a proper pot of tea with a cozy on it to keep it snuggly. The ceremony of it is quite comforting i think.

Then there is the type of cozy you use. I like the proper old fashioned crocheted or knitted kind. They remind me of my granny (who has two knitted cozies on her teapot, now that's some cozy tea!).

Do you make your tea in a pot or make it in the mug? Do you have a cozy? Maybe you have more than one. In which case, which is your favorite? Right, time to put the kettle on i think...

Bento boxes.

Woooo Sunday morning! (sorry, that's probably a little loud and excitable for first thing in the morning. I've had a lot of coffee and am getting myself all geared up for a busy sunday at work).

Have you got any plans for the day? I am going to work and then am going for a very yummy dinner at my moosh's house. Hopefully a roast, although the boeuf bourguignon we had a couple of weeks ago was also memorable. To be fair, any meal i don't have to cook is a good meal in my opinion!

I've been thinking about holidays quite a bit recently. Might start saving up for my next trip. I would absolutely love to go to Japan. The culture, food and style fascinates me.

Just look at these amazing bento boxes for example. 'Bento' is a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional bento consists of rice, fish or meat, and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables, usually in a box-shaped container.

But the amazing part is the style and look of some bento boxes. They stop being food and become art. I would love to have a lunch that looked like any of these!

 Domo bento!

Aww.
I had to include some russian doll bentos!

The time and care that goes into these meals is amazing. Imagine getting to lunchtime at work and opening any of these, it would definitely make you smile! Fab.

The best rugs ever!!

Well hello there and good morning! Are you well? I am a little fuzzy headed this morning after a few naughty G&T's last night and now i have a very early shift at work. Not good. Although we do have a excellent supply of hangover food so i reckon i'll be ok. Did you have a good Friday night? Or have you got plans for tonight? Easy dinner and a good movie are high on my agenda, so if that's your plan too then snap.

What do you think of the rugs pictured below? I think they're great, so snuggly. Do you think you could make one's like these? I reckon you'd need some pretty big knitting needles.

You can find them here. Made by Gandia Blasco, i think they're fab!

My cats.

Howdy happy campers!

I'm sorry but i am going to be a mad cat lady for a second today and show you my wonderful feline buddies.

Monkey is the little black cat and Willie is the little grey and white one. Willie is the baby whereas Monkey is over 4 years old. Both are very lovely and cute.

Are you a cat or a dog person? I'm actually a dog person and had no time for cats until i got mine. Now i love cats, but would still like a dog one day. A pug, if you hadn't guessed!

Awwww.
